Chans Peterson is the newest member to our Inside Sales team in Ogden, and will serve both the Utah and Idaho markets. Chans grew up in Utah, and has been working with or around building materials from the young age of 10. He began his career at J.M. Thomas while he was in high school as a forklift operator, and moved into inventory control shortly after. Chans recently joined the Inside Sales team with a ton of knowledge from operations and inventory control and and is excited for this new challenge and journey. He loves winter and snowboarding which lead him to playing many sports growing up. He has always been good at math, loves to be challenged, and loves animals! Chans is married and has fur babies! We are grateful for Chans and for the knowledge and experience he adds to our sales team from working in our yard and in inventory control!

Scott Matthews is the newest edition to our Builder Marketing Sales team in Boise, and will serve both the Utah and Idaho markets. Scott was born and raised in Boise, ID and in 1992 moved to St. George, UT to help a friend manage his construction company, which he became an equal partner shortly after. Scott became passionate about finding ways to drive efficiencies into the home-building process. He implemented several operations processes (i.e. materials management, componentization, LEAN) and a few software platforms (i.e. AutoCAD, Revit). Selling his partnership in 2000 to move back to Boise he started a marketing position with Trus Joist in 2001. He parted ways with Weyerhauser in early 2022.
Scott is now currently married to his 7th grade sweetheart after reuniting at a 30-year high school reunion in 2016. Scott has 3 children, and loves spending time in the Idaho mountains chasing trout and camping with family & friends as much as possible.

Heather Bailey is the newest addition to our Denver Inside Sales team, serving the Colorado market. Heather started her career in the building materials industry twenty years ago to pay her way through college. Little did she know she was starting her career in an industry that sucks you in and few ever leave! Heather began working for a solid surface company in their sales department as an administrative assistant. This position influenced her to change her college direction from graphics animation to interior design. She then moved into distribution with one of Colorado’s largest family-owned tile and stone suppliers, Capco Tile and Stone. She held many positions with Capco from customer service, logistics manager, and purchasing. In 2015 Capco was acquired by Crossville where she was running the branch operations. In 2018, she made yet another career move and started working for Sun Mountain Custom Doors selling high end custom wood doors in the Denver and Colorado Springs area as a territory rep. She joined the J.M. Thomas team this fall and we are grateful for her experience in the industry at many different levels, and are excited to watch her grow at J.M. Thomas.
